Sonargraph Product Family

Sonargraph-Enterprise collects metrics for all projects in an organization in one place, so you can finally answer questions like:

• Which projects' size increased the most within the last 30 days?
• Which projects have the lowest maintainability?
• Which projects had the biggest relative maintainability changes?

Compare projects at a glance

The project list shows two configurable metrics for each project and the changes of those metrics over a configurable comparison period. Sort by any column by clicking its header: click "Diff%" for the metric ML (Maintainability Level), for example, and the list is sorted by relative change in ML, ascending or descending.

Drill into a project

Clicking a project opens its landing page, displaying up to 10 metrics and charts of how two of them changed over time. You can define different pages with different selections of metrics, and clicking a metric in the left part of the viewer shows its chart. Each project can contain many modules, and there are landing pages for modules as well.

How data gets in

To feed Sonargraph-Enterprise you run Sonargraph-Build on all of your relevant projects in the nightly build. It generates a report with all the metrics for the project and its modules, and this report is uploaded to Sonargraph-Enterprise. The projects do not need to be specially prepared for Sonargraph; right now we just need Maven or Gradle to execute the data upload.

Project snapshots are saved in Sonargraph-Enterprise as well. Sonargraph-Architect can download them for an in-depth analysis of any project without needing access to the development environment, and the uploaded reports can serve as baselines in Sonargraph-Architect to find out exactly what has changed with respect to issues, metrics and cyclic dependencies.
