License model
Our license model is based on named users, i.e. every user needs his own license. The licenses are managed via web application by a license administrator which is named by the customer. This will keep the administrative effort small. Site licenses are available upon request.
The only exception is the server license. You need one per server.
Non-commercial users can use SonarJ free of charge. They can simple make use of free evaluation licenses, which have to be renewed on our website every thirty days. Longer term free licenses are of course also available upon request.
Please check the following definitions to see, if you are eligible for a free license:
Non commercial uses of SonarJ:
- Academic usage in universities and school for educational purposes
- Certain open source developers can use SonarJ free of charge within the scope of their open source project
- Purely private non commercial projects
The following class of open source projects does not qualify for a free license:
- Open source projects that provide entry level features of an otherwise commercial product
- Open source projects, that implement important business processes of the editor
All other uses of SonarJ are defined as commercial uses and therefore need a commercial license. |
